In celebration of all momentous achievements  of  the people who  had failed to enter mainstream education system due to lack of resources and traditional academic achievements, we hereby announce the establishment of a HARMONIOUS NON ACADEMIC institution of learning:  BORNEO OPEN INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY (BOIU).

Harmonious NON ACADEMIC learning integrates classroom teaching with real-life situations.The modality of teaching would be "learning by doing", not just sitting in classrooms and memorising facts for examination based paper qualifications. At BOIU, students are already in their vocations and the university offers the latests enhancements to their dimensions of harmonious living score-cards; thus enabling students to apply new tools and concepts to real hands on situations.  Theory is taught in classrooms through lectures, instructor led projects, tutorials, tests to demonstrate competencies and required readings from traditional course text books. The theory is tested in real life situations and stimulations.

Borneo Open International University (BOIU) is an American corporation receiving the authentication document from the Office of the Secretary of State of the United States of America on 28 February 2007 as proof of a legally incorporated business entity. The university is set to go into operation in February 2011 after a three year phase of planning.

The Master Franchiser and International Communications Centre for BOIU is located in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur is a city of breathaking transformation with modern skymarks juxaposed with the tapestry of  wowen cultures of unity in diversity.While the main institutes would be located in many member states of the United Nations. The University would appoint APPROVED LEARNING CENTERS as an accredited strategic business entity of the BOIU institutes; these APPROVED LEARNING CENTERS would be managed independently with fullest extend of autonomy. The APROVED LEARNING CENTERS would design, develop and deliver BOIU approved curriculum.

BOIU brings in an all new environment of learning where the students experience the encapsulation of world-wise wisdom from their teachers in many “Living Skills Dimensions”. These skills offer stability of thoughts, wisdom and spirituality through case studies and art of living.

During the 1st Phase of BOIU operation, the university would be structured as a globally operated APPROVED LEARNING CENTERS and virtual institution of NON-ACADEMIC Learning. Programs by BOIU are of a truly NON-ACADEMIC nature focusing on 'Life Enhancement Skills' for the evolution of mankind.

While the traditional academic programs focuses on competency skills to acquire academic credentials; the NON-ACADEMIC programs focus on life skills beyond academic credentials towards transforming  & enriching the quality of life with wisdom, emotional balancing & freedom, humanness, peace & harmony, health & wellbeing and liberation.

While traditional  academic programs meets knowledge requirement; non academic learning fills in the gaps of knowledge with intuition and wisdom of living thus providing the missing link in the equation of living life the way it was meant to be.

The university would have its first regional offshore International Student Communications  Center for Asia Pacific in the Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Other regional centers for student communication and recruitment would be set up in phase II of the strategic plan in other parts of the world.

Malaysia is truly Asia, where for the price of one year in USA or U.K, international students can complete a three year program in the Malaysia, the  paradise of cultural and linguistic diversity at unbeatable prices.

The States of Malaysia, had a long and interesting history of evolution where over the last four hundred years she had attracted a long succession of traders, adventures and colonialists of Indians, Chinese, Arabic, Portuguese, Dutch, British, Japanese and Asia Pacific origins.

The university’s primary purpose of existence is for the true liberalization of life long adult education, beyond the frontiers of traditional barriers. The university plans to offer diverse  harmonious NON-ACADEMIC programs of highest standards, myriads of non academic services, extra curricular activities and community projects through a conducive learning environment to enhance its graduate’s total holistic development.

Strategic alliance with industry leaders, professional institutions for academic excellence and international academic institutions of higher education for internship and career development would enhance its graduate’s employment potentials both locally and worldwide.

The university aims to assure its graduates a learning experience through the true democratization and liberation of harmonious NON-ACADEMIC Adult Education on the platform of creative independent  thinking, internationalization, industry linkage and research & development.

The university plans to offer its specialized innovative programs across the globe by creating the best minds in distinctive fields thus enabling students to earn its coveted international harmonious NON-ACADEMIC  qualifications much closer to home. We provide and integrated broad based “ balanced art of lharmonious living” experience to enable the graduates to think critically in real world scenarios. The balanced art of harmonious lving skills development  is NOT a paper chasing game and certaintly not focused on glitzy paper qualification to show ostentatious memory work.

BORNEO OPEN INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY's harmonious non academic learning could be the missing link in main stream education equations.

In due time the university would provide strict standard of quality education with vast resources through classroom, open and distance education in which all the study programs are geared towards adult learners, emphasizing continuous and harmonious life long learning.

In the first phase of TEN years ( 2011 -2021 ) the focus of the university would be in providing residential learning programs in classroom setting at the locations of the institutes and affiliated partner institutions across the globe. The online and distance learning programs at all the institutes would be made available in the second phase, starting in the year 2022. While some institutes are already collaborating with online training providers for joint certifications and are expected to start rolling out online programs  sooner.
