Professor Dr. Gopala Krishnan D. Edu., PhD Mgt
Dr. Gopala Krishnan has worked as an Educator, Diplomat, Management Consultant, Chief Executive Officer and Academic Head, culminating with his appointment as a Professor in 1999. Subsequently three other Universities have honored him with their Proferssorship.
Currently Prof. Dr. Gopala Krishnan is a Director at AIMS Asian Sdn Bhd and several other companies; Senior Vice President and Academic Head of Atlantic International University, USA, University of New Castle, USA and Camden University, USA taking charge of Malaysian Affairs. He is also a Fellow of Asian Institute of Management Science as well as Head of Accreditation for programs of United Kingdom Association of Professionals (UKAP) .
Prof. Gopala Krishnan’s Professional career started in 1957 as an academic officer with the Malaysian Ministry of Education. In 1960 he was posted to the Ministry of Defense as a lecturer at the Royal Military College (RMC).
Prof. Gopala Krishnan left the academic scene in 1965 and joined the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra) as a Diplomat.
Prof.Gopala Krishnan’s career in the Diplomatic Service has taken him to postings in Singapore, New Zealand, Yugoslavia, India, Italy, Ethiopia, Libya and France. In the course of his Diplomatic Service, he had been involved with various United Nations bodies viz the Food and Agricultural Organizational (FAO) in ROME; European Economic Commission (EEC) in PARIS ; United Nations Educational and Scientific Organisation (UNESCO) PARIS and the United Nations (UN). Most of his career with the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was on overseas postings as the Malaysian Diplomat.
Prof. Gopala Krishnan retired from the Malaysian Foreign Service in 1990 and joined Nixdorf Computers (German Company) as Country Manager for Malaysia, entrusted with Government Projects for Nixdorf computers. He successfully secured and implemented various government related projects, the main ones being at the Immigration Department, Tenaga Nasional, Ministry of Education and Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur.
In 1992, Prof. Gopala Krishnan joined Rangkaian Tenaga as the Vice President in charge of Corporate Affairs and Special Projects. He was entrusted with the implementation of the privatized Nation Wide Electronic Library System for the Malaysian Ministry of Education.
Prof. Gopala Krishnan was involved in the due diligience on behalf of Rangkaian Tenaga for the acquisition of the Stamford College Group from the Pereira Family. He was appointed as a Director of the Stamford College Group where he played a leading role in getting Stamford College becoming the first Private Institution to be listed in the Malaysian Stock Exchange.
In 1999, Gopala Krishnan left the Rangkaian Tenaga Group and set up his own Consultancy which is now very much involved in Distance Learning Programs after having secured the rights to be the Regional Recruitment Centre for Atlantic International University (USA), University of New castle USA, Camden University, Wisconsin International University. and Asian Institute of Management Science.
Prof. Gopala Krishnan has had a very colorful career in various fields exceeding 50 years both in the national and international environment.
